Conformity of Production (CoP) ensures that vehicles, systems, components, and separate technical units with type approval continue to meet the required standards during series production.
Conformity of Production (CoP) ensures that vehicles, systems, components, and separate technical units with type approval continue to meet the required standards during series production. This process is a mandatory element defined by EU regulations for all manufacturers.
CoP consists of two main steps:
- Initial assessment – evaluation of the manufacturer’s quality system and production processes.
- Series production inspections – regular audits, tests, and checks to ensure ongoing compliance during manufacturing.
Role of C and D type Technical Services
EU regulations distinguish between two types of technical services:
- C type services audit and evaluate the manufacturer’s processes and systems.
- D type services directly perform production conformity inspections and testing.
